This is the part of the blog where I try to give a summary of myself and show what this page is about. I already covered in my first ever publication in my blog, but hey! we humans enjoy being redundant so this goes like:

Who the f%&* is Erick Velazquez-Godinez? That is a very difficult question that I’ve been trying to answer. It is difficult since in this situation (a blog publication) offers no frame like when you are at work and you can easily say: well, I have a Ph.D. in natural language processing and data mining. Answering this question is easy if we are in a professional environment. We are trained for that. But for a blog of art, where should I start? Should I start with my education, as I do it (and just did it)? Did you study art? Not a formal education, but I have take art classes here and there. So I am mostly self taught. Naming my place of birth? Well, I was born in a small city, Colima, and grew up in a small town called Comala. My hobbies ? Oh, I like drawing, painting, reading, taking pictures and more recently I started sailing with a friend! The movies I enjoy? I have a big obsession on lord of the rings! I also like horror movies but I must confess I prefer movies from del Toro and Burton, there is something dark in them that makes movies really good. The food I like? ohh this is the last thing I can imagine to describe me, I love Mexican food but I am biased, I am Mexican and I believe Mexican good is great, but I also enjoy Italian food, French food and poutin!!!

I think I dried out of words but havent given a proper description of who I am so maybe I should start saying who my friends are? At the end we are a bit of each of our friends. So what if instead of describing my self by using some of the characteristics I like from my friends I could simple make a self portrait? What if I create a portrait of each of my friends so I can pictorially answer the question who am I? or even Where are we from? Where are we going? so this blog is an attempt to answer these questions with art!
